LABOR DAY WEEKEND

Aug. 28-31 Arapahoe - 60th Annual Northern Arapaho Celebration Powwow 2014
- come and enjoy Wyoming's Oldest Powwow at the Arapahoe powwow grounds!
See authentic Indian dancing competitions, visiting drum groups and drum
contests, try traditional foods, and watch spectacular grand entries on the

Aug. 30 – Sheep Trap Trek – Meet at the museum at 9 am for a free hike
to an ancient Rocky Mountain Bighorn sheep trap used by the Sheep Eaters in
the foothills of the Wind River Mountain range. Participants will carpool
to the trailhead. This hike will be at over 8,000 feet in elevation, and
even though the hike is short, it involves a steep uphill walk. Bring a
lunch, plenty of water, and wear sturdy hiking shoes or boots. 455-2284,

Aug. 30-31 Riverton Come watch some great rodeo action at the Rocky
Mountain Indian Rodeo Assoc., Regional finals. For details, call 349-3874,

Aug. 31 Shoshoni Labor Day Rodeo. at the Shoshoni Activities Association

Aug. 31 South Pass Carissa Mine Tour & ATV Poker Run... Run for the Gold!
 Here is your chance to learn about the rich history of mining with the
family, cover some serious ground, & win a bit of cash. The run is open to
ATVs & 4x4s.  It includes guided tours of historic gold mining sites near
South Pass City as well as a tour of the Carissa Mine. Tickets are $25 for
one hand, a commemorative T-shirt & a mMembership in the Friends of South
