Dec. 1-6 Riverton CWC presents Shakespeare’s Hamlet – a play over 400 years old. Monday at 7:30pm is the GALA reception, Tuesday-Friday 7:30pm, Saturday 2:30pm and 7:30pm, Sunday 2:30 pm. Dec. 3-4 Riverton Festival of Trees! See the magic of Christmas with a whole new twist on creatively decorated Christmas trees. Top awards presented. Held at the Fremont Hall at the Riverton Fairgrounds, 1010 Fairgrounds Dr. Dec. 3 is a free family preview with Santa from 3-5 pm, and an entire family dinner for $10, 6-8pm. Dec. 5 Lander officially welcomes the holiday season with Light-Up Lander!  Come enjoy cookies & cocoa from 3-5 pm, hayrides, and a special visit from Santa.  Raffles, too! Dec. 5 Shoshoni Christmas Dinner and Dance with live music and silent auction, starting 6-10pm. Everyone is welcome at the Shoshoni Senior Citizens Center. 214 East 2nd Street. 876-2703. Tickets $12, and reservations encouraged.

 

Dec. 5 Lander Community Concert Association: Renown New York pianist Richard Dowling will present a special concert of the "Worlds Greatest Piano Masterpieces," at 7pm, Lander Valley High School, 350 Baldwin Creek. Tickets $10. 332-2509, info at landerconcerts.org

 

Dec. 5 Dubois Annual Christmas Concert: Corner Lighting-Up Ceremony at 6pm, Ramshorn & S.1st Street, Free. Dec. 12 Lander Ben Brown’s Wild West Family Variety Show. This free community concert and show will host an assortment of music and a colorful cast featuring over 20 folks aged 9 and up. Free. 859-492-7148, 332-6767. Performance at Evangelical Free Church, 1215 Highway 287.

Dec. 12 Lander NY Metropolitan Opera presents The Magic Flute, by Mozart, in HD streaming. Dec. 13 Lander Art in the Afternoon Holiday Fair, sponsored by the Lander Art Center. A huge local favorite art show of unique fine art and original hand-made crafts from 50 regional artists. Jan. 1 Lander Start 2016 off on the right foot with the 5th Annual “First Day Hike” at Sinks Canyon State Park on New Year’s Day. Bring snowshoes if you have them, or good boots. Meet at the Nature Trail parking lot at 9 am.
