SO beautiful...I am ALWAYS complimented when I wear it and wouldn't dream of
letting it go unless I was returning to the Middle East where I can get
another! The special embroidery is done with a particular needle and
pashmina is an exceptionally soft, light wool. Info from Wikipedia:
"Pashmina refers to a type of fine cashmere wool and the textiles made from
it.The name comes from Pashmineh (پشمینه), made from Persian pashm ("wool").
The wool comes from changthangi or pashmina goat, which is a special breed
of goat indigenous to high altitudes of the Himalayas in Nepal, Pakistan and
northern India. Pashmina shawls are hand spun, woven and embroidered in
Kashmir, and made from fine cashmere fibre."
Look on the net for something this beautiful for comparable prices...I
could only find something only half as beautiful as this for $499. So I
think $300 is fair.
